Republic TV maintains top spot among English News Channels: 2019 Election Results Coverage by News Channels on YouTube

Vidooly formulated a statistical report analyzing the ‘Coverage of 2019 Election results by Indian News Channels on YouTube’ for May 23, 2019, owing to the Election Result day attracting one of the busiest viewership traffic for Indian news channels.

As the Indian population is taking to online viewership, YouTube has been gaining an increasing share of viewers streaming news online. The Vidooly Report for 2019 Election Results Coverage staged how the battle between news channels for live stream concurrent viewership on the eventful day of election results panned out.

A statistical study extending from streaming hours between 9 AM and 8 PM revealed channels contending for top two positions by the hour.

While ABP News and Aaj Tak kept shifting positions in the Hindi News Channels section, Republic TV maintained its top spot followed by CNN News 18 in the English News Channels section.

The morning was observed to be a widely preferred time for streaming news online. At 10 AM the Hindi News Channel viewership peaked with ABP News at 806.74K and it increasingly dipped through the course of the day until ABP News recorded 84.88K at 8 PM. Whereas the English News Channel section recorded its peak at 11 AM with 66.85K concurrent viewers and the rest of the day had viewership irregularly dipping by the hour in the range of approximately 60-40k viewers.

In summation was also put together a statistical analysis of each- viewership and subscribers gained across a host of channels which apart from ABP News, Aaj Tak, Republic TV and CNN News 18; also included channels like India TV, Zee News, News 18 India, NDTV and India Today giving a wider spectrum of viewpoint to the report.
