BARC Week 38: Amazon tops list of brands as HUL takes advertisers’ lead

Among the top ten brands listed in BARC Week 38 data, Amazon appeared on the top, a trend that can be attributed to the upcoming festive season.

As the fourth quarter of the year comes around, e-commerce websites seem to be taking the lead in pulling consumers via television advertising. According to BARC Week 38 data, the top ten brand insertions had three major online marketplace brands among them – Amazon, OLX, Flipkart.

With 14889 insertions, Amazon stood tall in the first position, followed by Santoor (12963), OLX (12384), Colgate (11057), Asian Paints Royal Health Shield (10476), Trivago (9964), Flipkart (9860), Kalyan Jewellers (8500), Surf Excel Easy Wash (8361) and Dettol Antiseptic Liquid (7666).

Among the list of advertisers, FMCG companies could be seen in the lead. Hindustan Lever Ltd was ranked first with 165543 insertions, followed by Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd (69064), ITC Ltd (42094), Procter & Gamble (38288), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (37815), Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd (29783), Cadburys India Ltd (29667), Amazon Online India Pvt Ltd (24374), Colgate Palmolive India Ltd (23256) and Zee Music (19762).
