Ad Insertions grew by 35% on Digital during Aug’20 compared to Jan’20: TAM

The recent edition of TAM AdEx report suggests that the Ad Volumes on television for August 2020 grew by 6% over July 2020.

TAM AdEx-Television Advertising Report XIII analyses the overall television advertising in July-August 2020 and a comparison between ad insertions on TV and Digital advertising in the said period. The report states that over 2500 advertisers and 3800+ brands were visible across 350+ categories in August 2020.

Analysing and comparing television and digital advertising, the report finds that Ad Insertions grew by 18% on TV and 35% on Digital in August 2020 compared to January 2020. In regards to categories, Ecom-Media/Entertainment/Social Media topped on Digital and was 6th on TV. Vicco Laboratories was found to the top exclusive advertiser on TV compared to Digital.

In August 2020, Personal Care/Personal Hygiene (21%), Food & Beverages (18%) and Services (13%) were the top sectors choosing to advertise on television. Among categories, top spending brands were that selling Toilet Soaps (7%), Ecom-Media/ Entertainment/Social Media (5%) and Tooth Pastes (4%).

Hindustan Unilever (19%), Reckitt Benckiser India (12%) and Colgate Palmolive India (2%) were the three top advertisers on television during August 2020.
