16% rise in celebrity endorsed Ads in Aug’20 compared to Jun’20: TAM

According to a TAM Report, celebrity endorsed ads had a 20% share of overall Ad Volumes on TV during July-August 2020.

TAM AdEx-Television Advertising Report-15 presents the advertising snapshot for August-September (till September 19) 2020. Two categories that the report focuses on are Celebrity Endorsements during July-August 2020 and Advertising Trends in Sports Genre for July-September 2020.

During the July-August 2020 period, celebrity endorsed ads had a 20% share of overall Ad Volumes on TV. Among all professions, Film Actress was the leading category, with a 47% share of celebrity ad volumes on TV.

The report further states that Virat Kohli topped the list of most visible celebrity on TV through Ad endorsements with an average visibility of 15 hours a day. MS Doni and Amitabh Bachchan were found to rank 2nd and 3rd with 13 hours and 12 hours of ad duration/day during July-August 2020.

Average Ad Volumes/Day on TV were seen to be soaring by 23% in September (till September 19) 2020, compared to June 2020. News Channel Genre was observed to be topping the Ad Volumes by 32%, followed by GEC (26%) in August-September 2020.

The report further states how Sports Programming Duration/Day rose by 52% in September 2020 compared to July 2020 and that E-com-Gaming and Hero Motorcorp were the top category and advertiser during July-September 2020.
