A TAM report states that GEC, Movies and News channels contributed more than 80% share of Ad Volumes on Television during Aug-Sep’20.
TAM AdEx-Television Advertising Report-17 takes a look at the overall advertising snapshot of genres in the time period between August and September 2020. The report focusses on Advertising in two key genres, News and Music for June-September 2020.
Further, the Average Ad Volumes/Day rose by 23% and 18% on News & Music genres in September 2020 over August 2020. The top 5 categories (Cars, Toilet Soaps, Tooth Pastes, Multiple Courses and Ecom-Education) together added 18% share of Ad Volumes within News genre in August-September 2020.
For the News genre, Drycells and Mahindra & Mahindra were the top new category and advertiser. They were present on television in August-September but not in Jun-July 2020. In fact, 40+ new categories and 1300+ new advertisers emerged in August-September 2020 compared to June-July 2020.
During week 40, Ad Volumes were witnessed to have increased by 26% on Music genre compared to Week 32. For August-September 2020, Ad Volumes on Music genre were recorded to have been dominated by Hindi Music channels with 40% share of Ad Volumes. Out of the top 5 advertised categories, all except Ecom-Media/Entertainment/Social Media were from the FMCG sector during August-September 2020.
