Auto Sector led Print Advertising with 18% Ad Volumes: TAM

TAM data highlights that Auto Sector, Education, Services & Personal healthcare were among the top leading sectors for Print Advertising in 2020.

TAM AdEx-Mirroring Y 2020 for Print Advertising indicates categories with most ad share volume, Lockdown vs Unlockdown trends, leading advertisers and brands in Y 2020.

An 11% drop was seen in the average ad volumes per publication in the second half of 2020. The lowest ad volumes per publications were seen in the 2nd quarter which includes the lockdown period. It increased by 90% in the 4th quarter as compared to the combined average of the first 3 quarters of Y 2020.

The Auto Sector topped with 18% share of Ad Volumes followed by Education with a 14% share. The top 3 leading sectors together added 46% share of Ad Volumes in Print.

The top brand during 2020 in Print Advertising was Maruti Car Range followed Hero Two Wheelers and Dr Ortho Oil.

In the top growing categories list, Ecom-Education saw the highest increase in ad space with a growth of 2.8 times. In terms of growth percentage, Hand sanitisers category witnessed the highest growth % among the Top 10, i.e, 105 times in Y 2020.

Paytm First Games and KIA Sonet were the top exclusive advertiser and brand respectively in Y 2020.
