Theatre has often been successfully viewed as a medium that educates while it .entertains, and at the same time holds a mirror to society. World Theatre Day commemorates this wonderful art form and all those inextricably associated with it. Zee Theatre with its teleplays attempts to immortalize these iconic contributions to storytelling.
Contrary to its name, Purush is the story of a strong woman in a patriarchal society. Lead character Ambika chooses to stand up for herself and other women who have been subjected to injustice and oppression, but she faces flak from society. Ambika fights patriarchy within and outside her home with an indomitable spirit making for an inspirational watch. Starring: Ashutosh Rana and Gulki Joshi. This play leaves a hard-hitting impact.

Rishton Ka Live Telecast, on the other hand, is a familial drama about the Sharma family. Members of a middle-class family, who quarrel endlessly, but bond together for the sake of a reality show and in the course of time learn more about each other in those few days than they have done throughout their lives. Starring: Himani Shivpuri and Aanjjan Srivastav. This play is a story that we can all identify with.
Himani Shivpuri who plays a pivotal role in Rishton Ka Live Telecast adds, “World Theatre Day is an important day for us, we get to applaud the efforts of renowned playwrights, actors, and directors who have put in toil and blood to create meaningful stories.
