Since 2007, Pentawards has been recognising global excellence in packaging design through its annual competition. In just 12 years the competition has received in excess of 16,000 entries from over 64 countries globally.
Elephant, Bulletproof, Pearlfisher and Superunion were just some of the major names unveiled on Instagram Live yesterday as part of the 2020 Pentawards Jury.
The world’s most prestigious packaging design competition has 30 of the world’s leading creative minds on board, as its judging panel for the 2020 competition. This year’s panel is drawn from 18 countries, across three continents, including first-time representatives from India, Denmark, Armenia, Switzerland and Brazil.
The number of female Jury members has almost doubled to nine, with the competition pledging to increase this number to an even 50/50 split over the next few years. Some of the women on board include Helle Søegaard Rasmussen from LEGO and Ashwini Deshpande from Elephant, the leading strategic design consultancy with presence in India & Singapore.

Adam Ryan, Head of Pentawards, concludes: “This is by far the biggest and best line up we have ever had for our Pentawards Jury. It is not only great recognition for the competition but also those entering the competition. ”
Speaking about her jury appointment, Ashwini said “It feels special to be the first Indian jury on board. This is also a recognition of the fact that global awards are increasingly getting more sensitive about cultural nuances that make an entry outstanding. Apart from evaluating entries from around the world, I will have added the responsibility of bringing forth the cultural context of entries from the Indian subcontinent.”
