TAM AdEx-Television Advertising Report-IX takes a look at the overall television advertising in the June-July 2020 period. It also takes a deep dive into news channels with a focus on Hindi News, Bengali News, Telugu News, Tamil News and Marathi News.
Among the new genres, Hindi News (national and regional) topped the ad volumes share (32%) followed by Bengali News (9%). Hand Sanitizers (5%) were the most advertised category on Hindi News channels followed by Multiple Courses (4%) and Range of OTC Products (3%). On Bengali News Channels, Toilet/Floor Cleaners (5%) advertisers found the maximum space, followed by Toilet Soaps (5%) and Antiseptic Creams/Liquids (5%).

The report highlights how the average ad volumes/day for July 2020 grew by 11% over June 2020. Personal Care/Personal Hygiene (22%) was the top sector to be advertising on television during this period, followed by Food & Beverages (18%) and Services (12%). Among categories, Toilet Soaps (8%), Shampoos (5%) and Tooth Pastes (4%) were the most prominent.
